This is a replacement for the internal 4MB ST-RAM memory-card. Via jumper it can be configured for 4MB or 14MB setting.
With a 4MB PS/2 SIMM you get the total 4MB as ST-RAM. With a 16MB PS/2 SIMM you get 14MB ST-RAM.
As parts of the address range of the Falcon are reserved for TOS and I/O devices only 14MB are useable as RAM.
Depending on the size of your SIMM this expansion fits best if the RF-shielding is removed. Otherwise you may have to cut a small opening into the shielding. |
